The Newcastle ISD Ag Building Renovations and Additions project included an interior renovation of existing classrooms and a 2,700 square foot expansion to the existing shop area. Trinity Hughes Construction provided Value Engineering to get the project within budget. The following changes created a savings of $35,000 for Newcastle ISD: reducing the shop and awning lengths, changing the standing seam roof to R-panel, using 3” roof insulation instead of 6”, providing non insulated overhead doors, changing concrete masonry unit walls to gypsum board with a 4’ tile wainscot, and using an alternate electrical fixture package.
